Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

James and John came to Jesus. They were the sons of Zebedee.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we would like to ask you for a favor.”

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him,“ Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.”

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came over and spoke to him.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we want you to do us a favor.”

James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached him and said,“ Teacher, we want you to do whatever we ask you.”

James and John, the two sons of Zebedee,* came up to Jesus, saying to Him,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You.”

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Him, saying,“ Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask.”

And there come near unto him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying unto him, Teacher, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall ask of thee.

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, approached Him and said,“ Teacher, we want You to do something for us if we ask You.”

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said,“ Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying,“ Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”

當時，西庇太的妻子帶著兩個兒子上前，跪在耶穌面前，有事要求祂。耶穌問她：「你要什麼呢？」她說：「在你的國度，請讓我這兩個兒子一個坐在你右邊，一個坐在你左邊。」耶穌回答說：「你們不知道自己在求什麼。我要喝的那一杯，你們能喝嗎？」他們說：「我們能。」耶穌對他們說：「我要喝的那一杯，你們也要喝。不過誰坐在我的左右不是我來定，而是我父為誰預備的，就讓誰坐。」其他十個門徒聽見這事，都對他們兄弟二人十分惱火。於是，耶穌把他們叫來，說：「外族人有君王統治他們，有大臣管理他們。但你們不可這樣。你們中間，誰要當首領，誰就要做大家的僕人；誰要居首位，誰就要做大家的奴僕。正如人子不是來受人服侍，而是來服侍人，並且犧牲性命，作許多人的贖價。」

拔示芭說：「我有一件小事求你，請你不要推辭。」王說：「母親請說，我必不推辭。」

現在我有一個請求，請你不要推辭。」拔示芭說：「你說吧。」

耶穌往前走了不遠，又看見西庇太的兩個兒子雅各和約翰正在船上補網，便立刻呼召他們。他們就辭別父親和船上的工人，跟從了耶穌。

於是耶穌帶著彼得、雅各和約翰向前走。祂覺得極其難過，非常傷痛，

於是，祂帶著彼得、雅各和雅各的弟弟約翰去雅魯家，不准其他人跟著。

提哥亞婦人來到王面前，俯伏在地上說：「王啊，求你救救我吧！」王問她：「你有什麼事？」婦人說：「婢女是個寡婦，丈夫死了。我本來有兩個兒子，有一次他們在田間發生爭執，當時沒有人勸解，其中一個兒子被打死了。現在整個家族都起來反對婢女，說，『把那打死親兄弟的兇手交出來，我們要他以命償命，除掉這個繼承人。』他們要斷了我家的香火，使婢女的丈夫既不能留名，也不能留後。」王說：「你回家去吧！我會為你作主。」提哥亞婦人說：「我主我王，願罪過都落在婢女和婢女家族，一切都與我王和王的王位無關。」王說：「若有人為難你，你就把他帶來，他必不敢再找你的麻煩。」婦人說：「求王憑你的上帝耶和華起誓，不許報仇者殺人，留我兒一命。」王說：「我憑永活的耶和華起誓，你的兒子必毫髮無損。」
