Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus( which means“ son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging.

Jesus and his disciples came to Jericho. They were leaving the city. A large crowd was with them. A blind man was sitting by the side of the road begging. His name was Bartimaeus. Bartimaeus means Son of Timaeus.

And they came to Jericho. And as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside.

Then they reached Jericho, and as Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus( son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road.

耶穌和祂的門徒離開耶利哥城時，有一大群人跟著祂。有兩個瞎子正坐在路旁，聽說耶穌經過，就高聲喊叫：「主啊，大衛的後裔啊，可憐我們吧！」眾人責備他們，叫他們不要出聲，他們卻喊得更大聲了：「主啊，大衛的後裔啊，可憐我們吧！」耶穌停下腳步，叫了他們來，問他們：「你們要我為你們做什麼？」他們說：「主啊，我們想能夠看見。」耶穌就動了慈心，摸他們的眼睛，他們立刻得見光明，並跟從了耶穌。

耶穌快到耶利哥城的時候，有一個瞎子坐在路旁討飯。他聽見許多人經過，就詢問是怎麼回事。有人告訴他是拿撒勒人耶穌經過此地，他就高聲呼喊：「大衛的後裔耶穌啊，可憐我吧！」走在前面的人責備他，讓他安靜，但他反而叫得更大聲：「大衛的後裔啊，可憐我吧！」耶穌停下腳步，命人把他帶過來，然後問他：「你要我為你做什麼？」他說：「主啊！我想能夠看見。」耶穌對他說：「你看見吧！你的信心救了你。」他立刻得見光明，並跟隨耶穌，一路讚美上帝。目睹這事的人也都讚美上帝。耶穌進了耶利哥，正從城裡經過。

「後來，乞丐死了，天使帶他到亞伯拉罕身邊。財主也死了，被人埋葬了。

他的鄰居和從前見他討飯的人說：「他不是那個常在這裡討飯的人嗎？」

有一個生來瘸腿的人天天被人抬到聖殿美門的外面，向進殿的人乞討。他看見彼得和約翰要進殿，就求他們施捨。

又有一個名叫拉撒路的乞丐身上長滿了膿瘡，被人放在財主家門口。
