耶稣进了殿，正教训人的时候，祭司长和民间的长老来问他说：“你仗着什么权柄做这些事？给你这权柄的是谁呢？”耶稣回答说：“我也要问你们一句话，你们若告诉我，我就告诉你们我仗着什么权柄做这些事。约翰的洗礼是从哪里来的？是从天上来的？是从人间来的呢？”他们彼此商议说：“我们若说‘从天上来’，他必对我们说：‘这样，你们为什么不信他呢？’若说‘从人间来’，我们又怕百姓，因为他们都以约翰为先知。”于是回答耶稣说：“我们不知道。”耶稣说：“我也不告诉你们我仗着什么权柄做这些事。”

有一天，耶稣在殿里教训百姓，讲福音的时候，祭司长和文士并长老上前来，问他说：“你告诉我们，你仗着什么权柄做这些事？给你这权柄的是谁呢？”耶稣回答说：“我也要问你们一句话，你们且告诉我。约翰的洗礼是从天上来的？是从人间来的呢？”他们彼此商议说：“我们若说‘从天上来’，他必说：‘你们为什么不信他呢？’若说‘从人间来’，百姓都要用石头打死我们，因为他们信约翰是先知。”于是回答说：“不知道是从哪里来的。”耶稣说：“我也不告诉你们，我仗着什么权柄做这些事。”

希律和本丢彼拉多，外邦人和以色列民，果然在这城里聚集，要攻打你所膏的圣仆耶稣，成就你手和你意旨所预定必有的事。

第二天，官府、长老，和文士在耶路撒冷聚会，又有大祭司亚那和该亚法、约翰、亚历山大，并大祭司的亲族都在那里，叫使徒站在当中，就问他们说：“你们用什么能力，奉谁的名做这事呢？”那时彼得被圣灵充满，对他们说：

过两天是逾越节，又是除酵节，祭司长和文士想法子怎么用诡计捉拿耶稣，杀他。

耶稣回答说：“我从来是明明地对世人说话。我常在会堂和殿里，就是犹太人聚集的地方教训人；我在暗地里并没有说什么。

外邦为什么争闹？万民为什么谋算虚妄的事？世上的君王一齐起来，臣宰一同商议，要敌挡耶和华并他的受膏者，说：“我们要挣开他们的捆绑，脱去他们的绳索。”那坐在天上的必发笑；主必嗤笑他们。那时，他要在怒中责备他们，在烈怒中惊吓他们，

耶稣在殿里所罗门的廊下行走。

万军之耶和华说：“我要差遣我的使者在我前面预备道路。你们所寻求的主必忽然进入他的殿；立约的使者，就是你们所仰慕的，快要来到。”
