Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. (niv)

Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. (niv)

“ Yes, he does,” he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak.“ What do you think, Simon?” he asked.“ From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes— from their own children or from others?”“ From others,” Peter answered.“ Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him.“ But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four- drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.” (niv)

When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it. (niv)

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God— this is your true and proper worship. (niv)

When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching. (niv)

But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all,as the secrets of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming,“ God is really among you!” (niv)

“ A son honors his father, and a slave his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?” says the Lord Almighty.“ It is you priests who show contempt for my name.“ But you ask,‘ How have we shown contempt for your name?’ (niv)

But Peter and John replied,“ Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges!As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” (niv)

He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success.He catches the wise in their craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are swept away. (niv)

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. (niv)

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (niv)

When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away. (niv)

Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor. (niv)

No one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no one dared to ask him any more questions. (niv)

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ (niv)

Fear the Lord and the king, my son, and do not join with rebellious officials, (niv)
