The second is this:‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

其次即「愛人如己」是已。

故凡爾欲人施諸己者、亦宜施之於人。律法先知、盡於斯矣。

蓋全部律法、一言以蔽之、曰：「愛鄰如己。」

夫愛之為德、寬裕含忍、愷悌慈祥、不忮不求、不矜不伐、明廉知恥、尚義敦禮、於利不貪、見忤不怒、不念惡、不逆詐、不樂人之非、惟樂人之是；無所不容、無所不信、無所不望、無所不忍。預言有時而息、方言有時而廢、智識有時而窮；而愛德則永久不匱也。

曰：『何誡？』曰：『毋殺人、毋姦淫、毋偷盜、毋妄證、敬爾父母、愛人如己。』

曰『爾當盡爾之心、盡爾之情、盡爾之力、盡爾之知、以愛天主、並愛鄰如己。』

經云：『爾當愛人如己。』爾能守此王法、則庶幾矣。若一味偏心、妄分厚薄、是即犯罪、不容於法。守全法而犯一誡者、亦為犯法。蓋誡爾毋犯姦淫者、天主也；而誡爾毋殺人者、亦天主也。爾即未犯姦淫、而犯殺人、是亦犯法而已矣。爾之言語行動、均須以自由之法為圭臬。蓋不施矜憐者、被審判時、亦必不蒙矜憐。惟矜憐仁恕、能逍遙於審判之外。

爾意三人中、孰為遭難者之鄰？』經生曰：『憐之者是。』耶穌曰：『往矣！遵此行！』
