這些話是耶穌在聖殿的銀庫房裏教導人的時候說的。當時沒有人捉拿他，因為他的時候還沒有到。

耶穌抬頭觀看，見財主把捐項投入聖殿銀庫，又見一個窮寡婦投了兩個小文錢，就說：「我實在告訴你們，這窮寡婦所投的比眾人更多。因為眾人都是拿有餘的捐獻，但這寡婦，雖然自己不足，卻把一生所有的都投進去了。」

祭司長拾起銀錢來，說：「這是血價，不可放在聖殿的銀庫裏。」
