「耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷啊，你常殺害先知，又用石頭打死那奉差遣到你這裏來的人。我多少次想聚集你的兒女，好像母雞把小雞聚集在翅膀底下，但是你們不願意。

園戶拿住僕人，打了一個，殺了一個，用石頭打死了一個。主人又打發別的僕人去，比先前更多；園戶還是照樣對待他們。

但你多年寬容他們，又以你的靈藉眾先知勸戒他們，他們仍不側耳而聽，所以你將他們交在列邦民族的手中。

你們要仁慈，像你們的父是仁慈的。」

人為人子的緣故憎恨你們，拒絕你們，辱罵你們，把你們當惡人除掉你們的名，你們就有福了！在那日，你們要歡欣雀躍，因為你們在天上的賞賜是很多的；他們的祖宗也是這樣待先知的。

其餘的抓住僕人，凌辱他們，把他們殺了。

要歡喜快樂，因為你們在天上的賞賜是很多的。在你們以前的先知，人也是這樣迫害他們。」

我告訴你們，以利亞已經來了，他們任意待他，正如經上指着他說的。」

自從你們祖先出埃及地的那日，直到今日，我每日一再差遣我的僕人眾先知到你們那裏去。你們卻不聽我，不側耳而聽，竟硬着頸項行惡，比你們的祖先更甚。「你要將這一切的話告訴他們，他們卻不聽你；呼喚他們，他們卻不回應。你要對他們說：『這就是不聽從耶和華－他們神的話、不領受訓誨的國民；誠信已從他們口中消失殆盡了。
