他們喊著說：「上帝的兒子啊！我們和你有什麼關係？時候還沒有到，你就來叫我們受苦嗎？」

當時會堂裡有一個被污鬼附身的人喊道：「拿撒勒的耶穌啊，我們和你有什麼關係？你是來毀滅我們嗎？我知道你是誰，你是上帝的聖者！」

試探者前來對祂說：「如果你是上帝的兒子，可以叫這些石頭變成食物。」

並趕出許多附在人身上的鬼。那些鬼喊叫著：「你是上帝的兒子！」耶穌卻斥責牠們，不許牠們說話，因為牠們知道祂是基督。

他一見到耶穌，就仆倒在祂面前，高聲喊叫：「至高上帝的兒子耶穌，我和你有什麼關係？求求你，不要折磨我！」

她跟著保羅和我們大喊大叫：「這些人是至高上帝的奴僕，是來向你們宣講得救之道的。」

你相信上帝只有一位，你信得沒錯，鬼魔也相信，而且恐懼戰抖。

鬼就哀求耶穌：「如果你要趕我們出去，就讓我們進入豬群吧！」

說：「如果你是上帝的兒子，就跳下去吧！因為聖經上說，『上帝會差遣祂的天使用手托住你，不讓你的腳碰在石頭上。』」

那時，有幾個走江湖的猶太術士也想用耶穌的名趕鬼，他們向那些被邪靈附身的人說：「我奉保羅所傳講的耶穌之名，命令你們出來！」做這事的有猶太祭司長士基瓦的七個兒子。邪靈回答說：「耶穌，我認識；保羅，我也知道。但你們是誰？」被邪靈附身的人隨即撲向他們，攻擊他們，制伏了他們，使他們赤著身子帶著傷從屋裡逃走了。全以弗所的猶太人和希臘人知道了這件事，都驚懼不已。主耶穌的名因此大受尊崇。

他晝夜在墳場和山野間大喊大叫，又用石頭砍自己。他遠遠看見耶穌，就跑過去跪下來拜祂，喊著說：

船上的人都敬拜祂，說：「你真是上帝的兒子。」

有關上帝的兒子耶穌基督的福音是這樣開始的。
