In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.

In fact, none of you can enter a strong man’s house unless you tie him up first. Then you can steal things from his house.

But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.

Let me illustrate this further. Who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger— someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.

“ On the other hand, no one can enter a strong man’s house and rob his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he will rob his house.

Can spoils be taken from a warrior, or captives be rescued from a conqueror?Indeed,” says the LORD,“ captives will be taken from a warrior; spoils will be rescued from a conqueror. I will oppose your adversary and I will rescue your children.I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will get drunk on their own blood, as if it were wine. Then all humankind will recognize that I am the LORD, your deliverer, your protector, the powerful ruler of Jacob.”

Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power.Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.

How else can someone enter a strong man’s house and steal his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can thoroughly plunder the house.

When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his possessions are safe.But when a stronger man attacks and conquers him, he takes away the first man’s armor on which the man relied and divides up his plunder.Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

So I will assign him a portion with the multitudes, he will divide the spoils of victory with the powerful, because he willingly submitted to death and was numbered with the rebels, when he lifted up the sin of many and intervened on behalf of the rebels.”

Then I saw an angel descending from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the abyss and a huge chain.He seized the dragon– the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan– and tied him up for a thousand years.The angel then threw him into the abyss and locked and sealed it so that he could not deceive the nations until the one thousand years were finished.( After these things he must be released for a brief period of time.)

Then the seventy- two returned with joy, saying,“ Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!”So he said to them,“ I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.Look, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and on the full force of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you.Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names stand written in heaven.”

Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out.

The spirit of the sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,

And I will put hostility between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring; her offspring will attack your head, and you will attack her offspring’s heel.”

At that time the LORD will punish with his destructive, great, and powerful sword Leviathan the fast-moving serpent, Leviathan the squirming serpent; he will kill the sea monster.

The God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.But the dragon was not strong enough to prevail, so there was no longer any place left in heaven for him and his angels.So that huge dragon– the ancient serpent, the one called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world– was thrown down to the earth, and his angels along with him.

Disarming the rulers and authorities, he has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in their humanity, so that through death he could destroy the one who holds the power of death( that is, the devil),
