In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.

Let me illustrate this further. Who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger— someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.

“ On the other hand, no one can enter a strong man’s house and rob his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he will rob his house.

Then all mankind will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.” (niv)

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. “ Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house. (niv)

“ When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe.But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.“ Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. (niv)

And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain.He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. (niv)

Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.The great dragon was hurled down— that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. (niv)

And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (niv)

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death— that is, the devil— (niv)
