門徒搖櫓，約行了十里多，看見耶穌在海面上走，漸漸靠近了船，他們就害怕。耶穌對他們說：「是我，不要怕！」

耶穌對他們說：「你們為甚麼驚恐不安？為甚麼心裏起疑惑呢？你們看我的手和我的腳，就知道實在是我了。摸摸我，看，因為魂無骨無肉，你們看，我是有的。」說了這話，他就把手和腳給他們看。他們還在又驚又喜、不敢相信的時候，耶穌對他們說：「你們這裏有甚麼吃的沒有？」

那日（就是七日的第一日）晚上，門徒因怕猶太人，所在的地方門都關了。耶穌來，站在當中，對他們說：「願你們平安！」說了這話，他把手和肋旁給他們看。門徒一看見主就喜樂了。
