But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

When He left that place, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be very hostile and to interrogate Him about many subjects,plotting against Him to catch Him in something He might say.

But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together.And one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him:

And He was also saying to the crowds,“ Whenever you see a cloud rising in the west, you immediately say,‘ A shower is coming,’ and so it turns out.And whenever you feel a south wind blowing, you say,‘ It will be a hot day,’ and it turns out that way.You hypocrites! You know how to analyze the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you do not know how to analyze this present time?“ And why do you not even judge by yourselves what is right?

And behold, a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying,“ Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

Then the Pharisees went and plotted together how they might trap Him in what He said.

Then Peter said to her,“ Why is it that you have agreed together to put the Spirit of the Lord to the test? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out as well.”

For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom;but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block, and to Gentiles foolishness,

The Pharisees and some of the scribes* gathered to Him after they came from Jerusalem,and saw that some of His disciples were eating their bread with unholy hands, that is, unwashed.

So they said to Him,“ What then are You doing as a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work are You performing?

So the people quarreled with Moses and said,“ Give us water so that we may drink!” And Moses said to them,“ Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the Lord?”

When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples,“ Why is He eating with tax collectors and sinners?”

Then Jesus said to him,“ Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe.”

On that day some Sadducees( who say there is no resurrection) came to Jesus and questioned Him,

Are we to pay, or not pay?” But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them,“ Why are you testing Me? Bring Me a denarius to look at.”

Not one of the rulers or Pharisees has believed in Him, has he?

When He entered the temple area, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him while He was teaching, and said,“ By what authority are You doing these things, and who gave You this authority?”

Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking,“ Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?”
