Let us put up three shelters— one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”( He did not know what he was saying.)While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.A voice came from the cloud, saying,“ This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen. (niv)

Listen to him!”When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified.But Jesus came and touched them.“ Get up,” he said.“ Don’t be afraid.”When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus. When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him.But Moses called to them; so Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and he spoke to them.Afterward all the Israelites came near him, and he gave them all the commands the Lord had given him on Mount Sinai.When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face.But whenever he entered the Lord’s presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded,they saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the Lord. Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. (niv)

and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double- edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said:“ Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. (niv)

He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. (niv)

Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. (niv)

So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. (niv)

who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (niv)

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! (niv)

This will be my third visit to you.“ Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.” (niv)

When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. (niv)

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is— his good, pleasing and perfect will. (niv)

Jesus replied,“ To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things.But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.”Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist. (niv)

Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was,will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. (niv)

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (niv)

He arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them,“ Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood.” (niv)

For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying,“ This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.
