污靈使那人抽了一陣風，大聲喊叫，就出來了。

你豈不是四面圈上籬笆圍護他和他的家，以及他一切所有的嗎？他手所做的都蒙你賜福，他的家產也在地上增多。但你若伸手毀他一切所有的，他必當面背棄你。」耶和華對撒但說：「看哪，凡他所有的都在你手中；只是不可伸手加害於他。」於是撒但從耶和華面前退出去。

耶穌斥責他說：「不要作聲，從這人身上出來吧！」鬼把那人摔倒在眾人中間，就出來了，卻沒有傷害他。

這是因耶穌曾吩咐污靈從這人身上出來。原來這污靈屢次抓住他；他常被人看守，又被鐵鏈和腳鐐捆鎖，他竟把鎖鏈掙斷，被鬼趕到曠野去。

你們是出於你們的父魔鬼，你們寧願隨着你們父的慾念而行。他從起初就是殺人的，不守真理，因他心裏沒有真理。他說謊是出於自己的本性，因他本來是說謊的，也是說謊者之父。

他正來的時候，那鬼把他摔倒，使他重重地抽風。耶穌斥責那污靈，把孩子治好了，交給他父親。

無論在哪裏，那靈拿住他，把他摔倒，他就口吐白沫，牙關緊鎖，身體僵硬。我請過你的門徒把那靈趕出去，他們卻不能。」

務要謹慎，要警醒。因為你們的仇敵魔鬼，如同咆哮的獅子，走來走去，尋找可吞吃的人。

那靈大喊一聲，使孩子猛烈地抽了一陣風，就出來了。孩子好像死了一般，以致眾人多半說：「他死了。」

那人常住在墳墓裏，沒有人能捆住他，就是用鐵鏈也不能；因為人屢次用腳鐐和鐵鏈捆鎖他，鐵鏈被他掙斷，腳鐐也被他弄碎了，總沒有人能制伏他。他晝夜常在墳墓裏和山中喊叫，又用石頭打自己。

耶和華對撒但說：「看哪，他在你手中，只要留下他的性命。」於是撒但從耶和華面前退出去，擊打約伯，使他從腳掌到頭頂長毒瘡。約伯就坐在灰燼中，拿瓦片刮身體。
