你們去向萬國宣告：「要召集勇士，徵調軍隊，前去打仗！要將犁頭打成刀劍，把鐮刀鑄成矛頭，軟弱的人也要做勇士！四圍的列國啊，你們快快聚集到那裡吧！」耶和華啊，求你差遣大能的勇士降臨。

戰馬奔馳吧！戰車疾駛吧！勇士啊，就是那些手拿盾牌的古實人和弗人以及箭法嫺熟的呂底亞人啊，出戰吧！

你們看見大衛城破口纍纍，你們儲存下池的水，數點耶路撒冷城的房屋，把房屋拆掉修補城牆。又在兩道城牆之間建造新的蓄水池，用來盛舊池的水。耶和華從古時已定了這一切，要使這一切發生，但你們既不仰望祂，也不理會祂。

列國啊，你們必被打垮、擊潰！遠方的人啊，你們要聽！整裝備戰吧，但你們必被擊垮！整裝備戰吧，但你們必被擊垮！

你說你已在外邦之地挖井喝水，已用腳掌踏乾埃及的河流。

希西迦說你們的上帝耶和華會從亞述王手中拯救你們，難道你們不知道這是哄騙你們的話，是要叫你們留在這裡饑渴至死嗎？
