Now the leaders of the people settled in Jerusalem. The rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of every ten of them to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while the remaining nine were to stay in their own towns.

在圣城所有的利未人共二百八十四名。

我们的祭司、利未人和百姓都抽签，每年按父家定期将奉献的木柴带到我们上帝的殿里，照着律法上所写的，烧在耶和华—我们上帝的坛上。

锡安哪，兴起！兴起！穿上你的能力！圣城耶路撒冷啊，穿上你华美的衣服！因为从今以后，未受割礼、不洁净的必不再进入你中间。

魔鬼就带他进了圣城，叫他站在圣殿顶上，

耶稣复活以后，他们从坟墓里出来，进了圣城，向许多人显现。

他们无论大小，都按着父系抽签，分守各门。

众人祷告说：“主啊，你知道万人的心，求你从这两个人中指明你所拣选的是哪一位，

约书亚就在示罗，在耶和华面前为他们抽签。约书亚按照以色列人的支派，在那里把地分给他们。

城又宽又大，城中的百姓却稀少，房屋也还没有建造。我的上帝感动我的心，我就召集贵族、官长和百姓，要登记家谱。我找到第一次上来之人的家谱，发现上面写着：

他们在那里设立审判的宝座，就是大卫家的宝座。

“你城中若有难以判断的案件，涉及流血，诉讼，或殴打等争讼的事，你就要起来，上到那里，耶和华—你上帝所选择的地方，去见利未家的祭司和当时的审判官，求问他们，他们必将判决指示你。

现在，我们要这样对付基比亚，照所抽的签去攻打他们。我们要在以色列各支派中，一百人选十人，一千人选一百人，一万人选一千人，为那到便雅悯的迦巴去的士兵运粮；因为基比亚在以色列中行了可耻的事。”

人虽可掷签在膝上，定事却由耶和华。
