Shabbethai and Jozabad, two of the heads of the Levites, who had charge of the outside work of the house of God;

There were also Shabbethai and Jozabad. They were two of the leaders of the Levites. They were in charge of the work that was done outside God’s house.

and Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chiefs of the Levites, who were over the outside work of the house of God;

and Shabbethai and Jozabad, from the heads of the Levites, who supervised the work outside the house of God;

and Shabbethai and Jozabad, from the leaders of the Levites, who were in charge of the outside work of the house of God;

Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the heads of the Levites, had the oversight of the business outside of the house of God;

Shabbethai and Jozabad, leaders of the Levites, were in charge of the external work for the temple of God;

and Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chiefs of the Levites, who had the oversight of the outward business of God’s house;

Other Levites, led by Ahijah, were in charge of the treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries of the gifts dedicated to the Lord.

On the fourth day after our arrival, the silver, gold, and other valuables were weighed at the Temple of our God and entrusted to Meremoth son of Uriah the priest and to Eleazar son of Phinehas, along with Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui— both of whom were Levites.

The Levites— Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah— then instructed the people in the Law while everyone remained in their places.

From the clan of Izhar came Kenaniah. He and his sons were given administrative responsibilities over Israel as officials and judges.

So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said,“ We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program.And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility.
