耶路撒冷王亚多尼‧洗德派人去见希伯仑王何咸、耶末王毗兰、拉吉王雅非亚和伊矶伦王底璧，说：

玛利沙的居民哪，我必使抢夺者来到你这里；以色列的贵族必来到亚杜兰。

这地界又下到欣嫩子谷对面山的边缘，就是利乏音谷的北边；又下到欣嫩谷，沿着耶布斯斜坡的南边，下到隐‧罗结；

他们在欣嫩子谷建造巴力的丘坛，把自己的儿女经火献给摩洛；他们行这可憎的事，使犹大陷在罪里，这并不是我吩咐的，我心里也从来没有想过。”

因此，看哪，日子将到，这地方不再称为陀斐特和欣嫩子谷，反倒称为杀戮谷。这是耶和华说的。

他又玷污欣嫩子谷的陀斐特，不许人在那里使儿女经火献给摩洛。

哈嫩和撒挪亚的居民修造谷门；他们立门，安门扇，装闩和锁，又修造城墙一千肘，直到粪厂门。

出去到欣嫩子谷、哈珥西的门口，在那里宣告我所吩咐你的话，

立拿王一人，亚杜兰王一人，

他们在欣嫩子谷建造陀斐特的丘坛，要在火中焚烧自己的儿女。这并不是我所吩咐的，我心里也从来没有想过。因此，看哪，日子将到，这地方不再称为陀斐特和欣嫩子谷，反倒称为杀戮谷。他们要在陀斐特埋葬尸首，甚至无处可葬。这是耶和华说的。

亚述将军听见亚述王已拔营离开拉吉，就启程返回，正遇见亚述王去攻打立拿。
