听从我，天天在我门口守望，在我门框旁等候的，那人有福了。

或服事的，要专一服事；或教导的，要专一教导；

但那等候耶和华的必重新得力。他们必如鹰展翅上腾；他们奔跑却不困倦，行走却不疲乏。

他们每日早晚向耶和华献燔祭，烧芬芳的香，又在纯金的供桌上摆供饼，每晚点燃金灯台上的灯盏，因为我们遵守耶和华—我们上帝的命令，但你们却离弃了他。看哪，率领我们的是上帝，又有他的祭司拿号向你们吹出响声。以色列人哪，不要与耶和华—你们列祖的上帝争战，因你们必不能得胜。”

他们的职务是作亚伦子孙的帮手，在耶和华的殿事奉，照管院子和屋子，洁净一切圣物，办理上帝殿的事务。
