Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.

搬运工人一手工作，一手拿兵器。修筑城墙的人工作的时候都腰间配剑。吹号的人在我旁边，

要穿戴上帝所赐的全副军装，以便能够抵挡魔鬼的阴谋。因为我们争战的对象不是这世上的血肉之躯，而是在这黑暗世界执政的、掌权的、管辖的和天上属灵的邪恶势力。因此，你们要用上帝所赐的全副军装装备自己，好在邪恶的时代抵挡仇敌，到争战结束后依旧昂首挺立。务要站稳，用真理当作带子束腰，以公义当作护心镜遮胸，把和平的福音当作鞋子穿在脚上准备行动。此外，还要拿起信心的盾牌，好灭尽恶者一切的火箭。要戴上救恩的头盔，紧握圣灵的宝剑——上帝的话。要靠着圣灵随时多方祷告和祈求，警醒不怠地为众圣徒祷告。也请你们为我祷告，求上帝赐我口才，让我勇敢地把福音的奥秘讲解明白。我为传福音成了披枷带锁的使者。请你们为我祷告，使我能尽忠职守，放胆传福音。

慷慨借贷，行事公正的人必亨通。

“听着，我差你们出去，就好像使羊走进狼群一般。所以，你们要像蛇一样机灵，像鸽子一样驯良。

弟兄姊妹，你们的思想不要像小孩子，要长大成熟，但在罪恶的事上要像婴孩。

希西迦见西拿基立定意要攻打耶路撒冷，就与众官员和将领商议，决定截断城外的水源，众人也都赞成。于是，他们召集大批民众，截断所有的水源和过境的溪流，不让亚述王得到充足的水。希西迦发愤图强，修筑所有被毁坏的城墙，在上面建造城楼，在城外加建一道墙，并在大卫城的米罗加强防御，制造许多兵器和盾牌。他委任将领管理民众，将他们全部召集在城门的广场上，训勉他们说：“你们要刚强勇敢，不要在亚述王和他的大军面前恐惧惊慌，因为与我们同在的比与他同在的更有能力。那与他同在的只是血肉之躯，与我们同在的却是我们的上帝耶和华，祂必帮助我们，为我们作战。”众人因犹大王希西迦的这番话而得到鼓舞。

那天晚上，雅各就在那里过夜，又挑选牲畜送给哥哥以扫作礼物：母山羊二百只、公山羊二十只、母绵羊二百只、公绵羊二十只、哺乳的骆驼三十头及其小骆驼、母牛四十头、公牛十头、母驴二十头、驴驹十头。雅各把牲畜每类分成一群，交给仆人看管，对他们说：“你们走在前头，每群牲畜之间要保持一段距离！”又吩咐走在最前面的仆人说：“我哥哥以扫遇到你的时候，如果问你是谁家的人？要到哪里去？前头这些牲畜是谁的？你就说，‘是仆人雅各要送给他主人以扫的礼物，他自己就跟在后面。’”雅各又吩咐看管第二群、第三群及其余牲畜的仆人遇见以扫时也要这样回答，并且一定要说：“你仆人雅各就在后面。”雅各想先用礼物去化解以扫的怨恨，或许见面时以扫会善待他。

看啊，是所罗门的轿子，周围是六十名勇士，都是以色列的精兵。他们个个骁勇善战，手持利剑，腰配战刀，防备夜间的偷袭。
