Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.

他們建造城牆；扛抬材料的人扛抬的時候，一手做工，一手拿兵器。建造的人都腰間佩刀建造，吹角的人在我旁邊。

要穿戴上帝所賜的全副軍裝，好抵擋魔鬼的詭計。因為我們的爭戰並不是對抗有血有肉的人，而是對抗那些執政的、掌權的、管轄這幽暗世界的，以及天空靈界的惡魔。所以，要拿起上帝所賜的全副軍裝，好在邪惡的日子能抵擋仇敵，並且完成了一切後還能站立得住。所以，要站穩了，用真理當作帶子束腰，用公義當作護心鏡遮胸，又用和平的福音當作預備走路的鞋穿在腳上。此外，要拿信德當作盾牌，用來撲滅那惡者一切燒着的箭。要戴上救恩的頭盔，拿着聖靈的寶劍－就是上帝的道。要靠着聖靈，隨時多方禱告祈求，並要為此警醒不倦，為眾聖徒祈求。也要為我祈求，讓我有口才，能放膽開口講明福音的奧祕，我為這福音的奧祕作了帶鐵鏈的使者，讓我能照着當盡的本分放膽宣講。

施恩與人、借貸與人、秉公處事的人必享美福，

「看哪！我差你們出去，如同羊進入狼羣，所以你們要機警如蛇，純真如鴿。

弟兄們，在心志上不要作小孩子。但是，在惡事上要作嬰孩，而在心志上總要作大人。

希西家見西拿基立來，定意要攻打耶路撒冷，就與領袖和勇士商議，塞住城外的泉源；他們都幫助他。於是許多百姓聚集，塞住一切泉源，以及國中流通的小河，說：「亞述諸王來，為何讓他們得着許多水呢？」希西家奮勇自強，修築所有毀壞的城牆，升高城樓，又在城外築另一片城牆，堅固大衛城的米羅，製造許多兵器和盾牌。他設立軍事將領管理百姓，召集他們在城門的廣場，勉勵他們，說：「你們當剛強壯膽，不要因亞述王和跟隨他的大軍恐懼驚慌，因為與我們同在的，比與他們同在的更大。與他們同在的是血肉之臂，但與我們同在的是耶和華－我們的上帝，他必幫助我們，為我們爭戰。」百姓因猶大王希西家的話就得到鼓勵。

當夜，雅各在那裏住宿，就從他手中所擁有的拿禮物要送給他哥哥以掃，就是二百隻母山羊、二十隻公山羊、二百隻母綿羊、二十隻公綿羊、三十匹哺乳的母駱駝和牠們的小駱駝、四十頭母牛、十頭公牛、二十匹母驢和十匹公驢。他把每種牲畜各分一羣，交在僕人手中，對僕人說：「你們要在我的前頭過去，使羣和羣之間保持一段距離」。他又吩咐領頭的人說：「我哥哥以掃遇見你的時候，問你說：『你是誰的人？要往哪裏去？你前面這些是誰的？』你就說：『是你僕人雅各的，是送給我主以掃的禮物。看哪，他自己也在我們後面。』」他又吩咐第二、第三和所有趕畜羣的人說：「你們遇見以掃的時候要照這樣的話對他說，你們還要說：『看哪，你僕人雅各在我們後面。』」因雅各說：「我藉着在我前面送去的禮物給他面子，然後再見他的面，或許他會寬容我。」

看哪，是所羅門的轎，周圍有六十個勇士，都是以色列中的勇士。他們的手都持刀，善於爭戰，各人腰間佩刀，防備夜間恐怖的攻擊。
