So may such a person be shaken out and emptied!” At this the whole assembly said,“ Amen,” and praised the Lord. And the people did as they had promised.

我也抖着胸前兜兒說：『凡不實行這諾言的、願上帝照樣地抖他離開他的家和他所得的產業，直到都抖空了。』全體大眾都說『阿們』，又讚美永恆主。眾民就照這諾言而行。

我則振衣曰、凡不踐其言者、願上帝如是振之、俾離家室、及其職業、使之匱乏、會眾曰、阿們、遂頌讚耶和華、民依所許而行、

我則拂去衣上塵、曰、凡不踐其言、上帝必去之、有如此衣、離家室、失產業、使之匱乏。會眾曰、正所願也、遂頌讚耶和華。嗣後民咸從斯言。

我遂拂胸邊衣襟曰、凡不循此言而行者、天主亦必如此拂之、使離家宅產業、使之空匱、毫無所有、會眾曰、阿們、又頌讚主、斯後民從其言、

I also shook out my pockets and emptied them. I said,“ Someone might decide not to keep this promise they have made. If that happens, may God shake them out of their house! May he empty them of everything they own!” The whole community said,“ Amen.” They praised the Lord. And the leaders did what they had promised to do.

Even thus may he be shaken out and emptied.” And all the assembly said,“ Amen!” and praised the Lord. Then the people did according to this promise.

In this way may he be shaken out and emptied!” All the assembly replied,“ So be it!” and they praised the LORD. Then the people did as they had promised.

Also I shook out my lap, and said,“ So may God shake out every man from his house, and from his labor, that doesn’t perform this promise; even may he be shaken out and emptied like this.” All the assembly said,“ Amen,” and praised Yahweh. The people did according to this promise.

But when they opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them,“ Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent of it. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.

Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Then all the people said“ Amen” and“ Praise the Lord.”

Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.
