“ The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come.

And the armed men went before them. But the rear guard came after the ark of the Lord, while the priests continued blowing the trumpets.And the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. So they did six days.But it came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early, about the dawning of the day, and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. On that day only they marched around the city seven times.And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people:“ Shout, for the Lord has given you the city!

Now look, God Himself is with us as our head, and His priests with sounding trumpets to sound the alarm against you. O children of Israel, do not fight against the Lord God of your fathers, for you shall not prosper!”But Jeroboam caused an ambush to go around behind them; so they were in front of Judah, and the ambush was behind them.And when Judah looked around, to their surprise the battle line was at both front and rear; and they cried out to the Lord, and the priests sounded the trumpets.Then the men of Judah gave a shout; and as the men of Judah shouted, it happened that God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests regularly blew the trumpets before the ark of the covenant of God.
