只是住在那地的人强壮，城又坚固又十分高大，并且我们在那里也看见了亚衲族人的后裔。

然而住那地的民强壮，城邑也坚固宽大，并且我们在那里看见了亚衲族的人。

但是住那地的百姓很强悍，城镇又大又坚固，我们也在那里看见了亚衲族人。

“以色列啊，你要听，你今日快要过约旦河，进去赶出比你又大又强的列国，占领坚固、高得顶天的城市。那地的民族又高又大，就是亚衲族的人，是你知道的，你也听过有人指着他们说：‘谁能在亚衲族人面前站立得住呢？’

我们上哪里去呢？我们的兄弟使我们心灰意冷，说：那地的人比我们高大；他们的城邑又大又坚固，高耸入天；我们在那里还看见有亚衲族的人。’

在那里我们看见了巨人，就是亚衲人的子孙，是巨人的后裔；我们看自己好像是蚱蜢，他们看我们也是这样。”

（以前有以米人住在那里，这族人人数众多，身体高大，像亚衲族人一样。这以米人，像亚衲族人一样，也算为利乏音人；但摩押人称他们为以米人。

迦勒把亚衲人的三个子孙，就是示筛、亚希幔、挞买，从那里赶出去；他们是亚衲人的后代。

这些城都是以高墙作堡垒，有城门，有门闩；此外，还有很多没有城墙的乡村。

在以色列人的境内，没有留下一个亚衲族人，只在迦萨、迦特和亚实突还有余下的。

这族人人数众多，身体高大，像亚衲族人一样；但耶和华从亚扪人面前消灭了他们，亚扪人就占领了他们的地业，住在那里，

他们上到南地，到了希伯仑，在那里有亚衲族人的后裔亚希幔、示筛、挞买。原来希伯仑城比埃及的琐安城早建七年。他们来到以实各谷，从那里砍下了一根葡萄枝子，上头只有一挂葡萄，两个人用杠抬着回来；他们也带了些石榴和无花果回来。

犹大照着摩西的吩咐，把希伯仑给了迦勒；迦勒就从那里赶走亚衲子孙的三族。
