在迦特又有一场战事，那里有一个身量高大的人，手脚都各有六个指头，总数是二十四个；这人也是巨人所生的。这人向以色列人骂阵，大卫的哥哥示米亚的儿子约拿单把他击杀了。以上这四个人都是迦特城里那个巨人所生的，都死在大卫和大卫臣仆的手下。

他又杀死了一个身高两百多公分的埃及人。这埃及人手里拿着矛枪，好像织布机轴，比拿雅只拿着棍子下去会他，竟从那埃及人手中把矛枪夺了过来，再用他的矛枪把他杀死。

那非利士人观看，看见了大卫，就藐视他，因为他年纪还轻，面色红润，外貌英俊。
