You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember all the commands of the Lord, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts and eyes.

You will have the tassels to look at. They will remind you to obey all the Lord’ s commands. Then you will be faithful to him. You will not chase after what your own hearts and eyes wish for.

And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the Lord, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after.

When you see the tassels, you will remember and obey all the commands of the Lord instead of following your own desires and defiling yourselves, as you are prone to do.

孩子啊，不要忘記我的訓言，要把我的誡命存在心裡，

他們的行為玷污了自己，使自己淪為淫婦。

倘若我的腳偏離正路，貪圖眼目之慾，或手上粘著罪污，

年輕人啊，在年輕時要快樂，要在青春歲月裡使自己的心歡暢。心裡想做什麼就去做，眼睛想看什麼就去看。然而，要切記：上帝必照你所行的一切審判你。

「所以，你們要把我的這些吩咐銘記在心，繫在手上，戴在額上作記號；要用這些話教導你們的兒女，無論在家在外、或起或臥，都要講論；也要寫在城門上和自家的門框上。這樣，你們及子孫就可以生活在耶和華起誓賜給你們祖先的土地上，與天地同長。

「不可與當地的居民立約，免得他們與自己的神明苟合時邀請你，你就吃他們的祭物，給兒子娶他們的女兒為妻，以致她們與自己的神明苟合時誘使你的兒子犯同樣的罪。

執迷不悟，隨從他們祖先的教導去供奉巴力。」

這節期就好像在你們手上或額上作的記號，叫你們記得耶和華的律法，祂曾經用大能的手把你們帶出埃及。

你們若不遵行你們的上帝耶和華的誡命，偏離我今天吩咐你們當走的道路，隨從不認識的神明，必受咒詛。你們的上帝耶和華帶領你們進入並佔領那片土地時，你們要在基利心山上宣告祝福，在以巴路山上宣告咒詛。基利心山和以巴路山屬於住在亞拉巴的迦南人，位於約旦河西岸的日落之處，在吉甲對面，靠近摩利橡樹。你們穿過約旦河，佔領耶和華賜給你們的土地，定居下來以後，要謹遵我今天頒佈給你們的一切律例和典章。

要將我今天吩咐你們的話牢記在心，並教導你們的兒女，無論在家在外，或起或臥，都要講論這些律例和誡命。要把它們繫在手上、戴在額上作記號，要寫在城門上和自家的門框上。

你們要謹慎，不可忘記你們的上帝耶和華與你們所立的約，不可違背你們上帝耶和華的禁令，去製造任何形狀的神像。

你們這些對主不忠的人啊，難道還不明白與世俗為友就是與上帝爲敵嗎？所以，凡是與世俗為友的，都是上帝的敵人。

要小心，不可忘記把你們從受奴役之地——埃及救出來的耶和華。

免得有人聽了這誓言後，心存僥倖地說，『即使我一意孤行，連累他人，也必平安無事。』

「你們去跟你們的母親理論吧！因為她不再是我的妻子，我也不再是她的丈夫。叫她別再出賣色相，別再露出乳間的淫態。
