Isn’t it enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness? And now you also want to lord it over us!

You have brought us up out of a land that has plenty of milk and honey. You have brought us here to kill us in this desert. Isn’t that enough? Now do you also want to act as if you were ruling over us?

Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you must also make yourself a prince over us?

Isn’t it enough that you brought us out of Egypt, a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us here in this wilderness, and that you now treat us like your subjects?

Is it not enough that you brought us up from a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness? Do you also have to appoint yourself as ruler over us?

Is it not enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to have us die in the wilderness, but you would also appoint yourself as master over us?

Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you should keep acting like a prince over us?

他们拒绝了这位摩西，说：‘谁立了你作领袖和审判官呢？’但神藉着在荆棘中向他显现的使者的手，派他作领袖和救赎者。

那人回答：“谁立了你作我们的领袖和审判官呢？难道你想杀我，好像杀那个埃及人一样吗？”摩西就惧怕起来，心里想：“这事必定给人知道了！”

我们记得在埃及的时候，可以不花钱吃鱼，还有黄瓜、西瓜、韭菜、葱和蒜。

以色列人对他们说：“我们宁愿在埃及地坐在肉锅旁边，吃饭吃到饱的时候，死在耶和华的手里！你们倒把我们领出来，到这旷野，是要叫这全体会众饿死啊！”

人民与摩西争闹，说：“但愿我们的兄弟在耶和华面前死去的时候，我们也一同死去！你们为什么把耶和华的会众领到这旷野来，使我们和我们的牲畜都死在这里呢？

过了很久，埃及王死了。以色列人在捆锁中叹息，他们就呼求，在捆锁中的呼求达到神那里。

于是，他们指派督工管辖他们，加重他们的重担苦害他们，他们为法老建造两座贮货城，就是比东和兰塞。

以色列人向摩西和亚伦发怨言；全体会众都对他们说：“但愿我们早死在埃及地，或死在这旷野。

法老吩咐他的众民说：“凡是希伯来人（《马索拉文本》无“希伯来人”，现参照其他古文本及古译本补上）所生的男孩，你们都要把他投在河里；凡是女孩，就让她活着。”

他本国的人却恨他，就派使者跟着去说：‘我们不愿意这个人作王统治我们。’

他以为同胞们都必知道神要藉着他的手拯救他们，事实上他们却不知道。第二天，有人在打架，摩西就出面调解，说：‘你们是弟兄，为什么彼此欺负呢？’那欺负邻舍的把他推开，说：‘谁立了你作我们的领袖和审判官呢？

世上的君王起来，首领聚在一起，敌对耶和华和他所膏立的，说：“我们来挣断他们给我们的束缚，摆脱他们的绳索！”

人民在那里渴望得水喝，就向摩西发怨言，说：“你为什么把我们从埃及领上来，使我们和我们的儿女，以及我们的牲畜都渴死呢？”
