“ Aaron’s sacred garments will belong to his descendants so that they can be anointed and ordained in them.The son who succeeds him as priest and comes to the tent of meeting to minister in the Holy Place is to wear them seven days. (niv)

Remove Aaron’s garments and put them on his son Eleazar, for Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will die there.” (niv)

“ Now, my son, the Lord be with you, and may you have success and build the house of the Lord your God, as he said you would.May the Lord give you discretion and understanding when he puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the law of the Lord your God. (niv)

“ Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again.Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you.For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. (niv)

“ Go up into the Abarim Range to Mount Nebo in Moab, across from Jericho, and view Canaan, the land I am giving the Israelites as their own possession.There on the mountain that you have climbed you will die and be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people. (niv)

“ May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all living things, appoint someone over this communityto go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”So the Lord said to Moses,“ Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership, and lay your hand on him.Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire assembly and commission him in their presence.Give him some of your authority so the whole Israelite community will obey him.He is to stand before Eleazar the priest, who will obtain decisions for him by inquiring of the Urim before the Lord. At his command he and the entire community of the Israelites will go out, and at his command they will come in.”Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and had him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole assembly.Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the Lord instructed through Moses. (niv)

And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things. (niv)

And Moses the servant of the Lord died there in Moab, as the Lord had said. (niv)

but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. (niv)

At the Lord’s command Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor, where he died on the first day of the fifth month of the fortieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt.Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.The Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev of Canaan, heard that the Israelites were coming.They left Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah.They left Zalmonah and camped at Punon.They left Punon and camped at Oboth.They left Oboth and camped at Iye Abarim, on the border of Moab.They left Iye Abarim and camped at Dibon Gad.They left Dibon Gad and camped at Almon Diblathaim.They left Almon Diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim, near Nebo.They left the mountains of Abarim and camped on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho.There on the plains of Moab they camped along the Jordan from Beth Jeshimoth to Abel Shittim. (niv)

Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel,“ Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (niv)

Of all my sons— and the Lord has given me many— he has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.He said to me:‘ Solomon your son is the one who will build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.I will establish his kingdom forever if he is unswerving in carrying out my commands and laws, as is being done at this time.’“ So now I charge you in the sight of all Israel and of the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God: Be careful to follow all the commands of the Lord your God, that you may possess this good land and pass it on as an inheritance to your descendants forever.“ And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. (niv)

Then David ordered all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon. (niv)

Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the Lord had commanded Moses. (niv)
