Give him some of your authority so the whole Israelite community will obey him.

As Saul turned to leave Samuel, God changed Saul’s heart, and all these signs were fulfilled that day. (niv)

So Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king in place of his father David. He prospered and all Israel obeyed him. (niv)

When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha,“ Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?”“ Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied.“ You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah said,“ yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours— otherwise, it will not.” (niv)

The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person. (niv)

The Lord highly exalted Solomon in the sight of all Israel and bestowed on him royal splendor such as no king over Israel ever had before. (niv)

The company of the prophets from Jericho, who were watching, said,“ The spirit of Elijah is resting on Elisha.” And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him. (niv)

I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them. They will share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone. (niv)
