“七月初十，你们当有圣会；要刻苦己心，任何工都不可做。

“‘在七月十日，你们要有圣会，刻苦己心，什么都不可作，

「七月初十，你們當有聖會；要刻苦己心，任何工都不可做。

「七月十日，你們要舉行聖會，禁食，不可工作。

“‘在七月十日，你們要有聖會，刻苦己心，甚麼都不可作，

『在這七月十日、你們要有聖聚會，要刻苦自己；甚麼工都不可作，

七月十日、必有聖會、當苦其心、勿操作、

七月十日、必有聖會、咸止工作、卑以自牧、

七月十日、爾當有聖會、必刻苦齋戒、無論何工、悉毋作、

“‘ On the tenth day of this seventh month hold a sacred assembly. You must deny yourselves and do no work.

“‘ On the tenth day of the seventh month, come together for a special service. You must not eat anything on that day. You must not do any work on it.

“ On the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation and afflict yourselves. You shall do no work,

“ Ten days later, on the tenth day of the same month, you must call another holy assembly. On that day, the Day of Atonement, the people must go without food and must do no ordinary work.

“ You are to hold a sacred assembly on the tenth day of this seventh month and practice self-denial; do not do any work.

‘ Then on the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy assembly, and you shall humble yourselves; you shall not do any work.

‘ On the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall afflict your souls; you shall not do any work.

And on the tenth day of this seventh month ye shall have a holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall do no manner of work;

“ You are to hold a sacred assembly on the tenth day of this seventh month and practice self-denial; you must not do any work.

And ye shall have on the tenth[ day] of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work[ therein]:

“‘ On the tenth day of this seventh month you are to have a holy assembly. You must humble yourselves; you must not do any work on it.

“‘ On the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall afflict your souls. You shall do no kind of work;

至于我，他们有病的时候，我穿麻衣，禁食，刻苦己心；我所求的都归到自己身上。

“这是你们永远的定例：每年七月初十，你们要刻苦己心；无论是本地人，是寄居在你们中间的外人，任何工都不可做。因为这日要为你们赎罪，洁净你们，使你们脱离一切的罪，在耶和华面前得以洁净。这日你们要守完全安息的安息日，刻苦己心；这是永远的定例。

航行的日子久了，已经过了禁食的节期，行船又危险，保罗就建议，

那时，我在亚哈瓦河边宣告禁食，为要在我们神面前刻苦己心，求他使我们和我们的孩子，以及一切所有的，都得平坦的道路。

我告诉你们，不是的！你们若不悔改，都照样要灭亡！”

“我们禁食，你为何不看呢？我们刻苦己心，你为何不理会呢？”看哪，你们禁食的时候仍追求私利，剥削为你们做苦工的人。看哪，你们禁食，却起纷争兴讼，以凶恶的拳头打人。你们今日这种禁食无法使你们的声音听闻于高处。这岂是我所要的禁食，为人所用以刻苦己心的日子吗？我难道只是叫人如芦苇般低头，铺上麻布和灰烬吗？你能称此为禁食，为耶和华所悦纳的日子吗？

我们知道，我们的旧人和他同钉十字架，使罪身灭绝，叫我们不再作罪的奴隶，

耶和华吩咐摩西说：“但是，七月初十是赎罪日；你们要守为圣会，刻苦己心，并要将火祭献给耶和华。在这一日，任何工都不可做；因为这是赎罪日，要在耶和华—你们的神面前赎罪。在这一日，凡不刻苦己心的，必从百姓中剪除。凡在这一日做任何工的，我必将他从百姓中除灭。任何工你们都不可做。在你们一切的住处，这要成为你们世世代代永远的定例。你们要守这日为完全安息的安息日，刻苦己心；从这月初九晚上到次日晚上，你们要守为安息日。”

当那日，万军之主耶和华使人哭泣哀号，头上光秃，身披麻布。

我克制己身，使它完全顺服，免得我传福音给别人，自己反而被淘汰了。

我告诉你们，不是的！你们若不悔改，都同样要灭亡！

“我要将那施恩与恳求的灵，浇灌大卫家和耶路撒冷的居民。他们必仰望我，就是他们所扎的那位。他们必为他悲伤，如丧独子，又为他哀哭，如丧长子。

流泪撒种的，必欢呼收割！那带种流泪出去的，必欢呼地带禾捆回来！

如今我欢喜，不是因你们曾忧愁，而是因忧愁导致你们的悔改。你们依着神的意思忧愁，凡事就不至于因我们受亏损了。因为依着神的意思而忧愁，就生出没有懊悔的悔改来，以致得救；但世俗的忧愁叫人死。你看，你们依着神的意思而忧愁，这在你们当中产生了何等的殷勤、甚至辩白、甚至愤慨、甚至恐惧、甚至渴望、甚至热忱、甚至责罚。在这一切事上，你们都表明自己是无可指责的。

要亲近神，神就必亲近你们。有罪的人哪，要洁净你们的手！心怀二意的人哪，要清洁你们的心！你们要愁苦，悲哀，哭泣；要将欢笑变为悲哀，欢乐变为愁闷。要在主面前谦卑，他就使你们高升。

问万军之耶和华殿中的祭司，又问先知：“我当如历年以来所行，在五月哭泣斋戒吗？”

哀恸的人有福了！因为他们必得安慰。
