耶和華擊殺伯‧示麥人，因為他們觀看他的約櫃。他擊殺了百姓七十人。百姓因耶和華大大擊殺他們，就哀哭了。

所以，弟兄們，既然我們靠着耶穌的血得以坦然進入至聖所，是藉着他給我們開了一條又新又活的路，從幔子經過，這幔子就是他的身體。既然我們有一位偉大祭司治理神的家，那麼，我們該用誠心和充足的信心，同已蒙潔淨、無虧的良心，和清水洗淨了的身體來親近神。

這樣，你們不再是外人或客旅，是與聖徒同國，是神家裏的人了，

有火從耶和華那裏出來，吞滅了那上香的二百五十人。

他若在地上，就不用作祭司，因為已經有照律法獻禮物的祭司了。

他們在會幕前負責歌唱的事奉，及至所羅門在耶路撒冷建造了耶和華的殿，他們就按着班次供職。

耶和華的怒氣向烏撒發作；神因這冒犯在那裏擊打他，他就死在那裏，在神的約櫃旁。

烏西雅既強盛，就心高氣傲，以致敗壞。他干犯耶和華－他的神，進耶和華的殿，要在香壇上燒香。亞撒利雅祭司率領八十名勇敢的耶和華的祭司，跟隨他進去。他們阻止烏西雅王，對他說：「烏西雅啊，給耶和華燒香不是你的事，而是亞倫子孫的事，他們是分別為聖來燒香的祭司。你出聖殿吧！因為你犯了罪，耶和華神必不使你得尊榮。」烏西雅發怒，手拿香爐要燒香。他在耶和華殿中香壇旁向眾祭司發怒的時候，他的額頭在眾祭司面前忽然長出痲瘋。亞撒利雅祭司長和眾祭司轉向他，看哪，他的額頭長出痲瘋，就催他離開那裏；他自己也急速出去，因為耶和華降災於他。烏西雅王患痲瘋直到死的那日；他因為染上痲瘋，就住在隔離的行宮裏，與耶和華的殿隔絕。他兒子約坦管理王的家，治理這地的百姓。

他們要遵守你的吩咐，負責看守整個帳幕，只是不可挨近聖所的器具和祭壇，免得他們和你們都死亡。

這些事你要殷勤去做，並要在這些事上專心，讓眾人看出你的長進來。要謹慎自己和自己的教導，要在這些事上恆心，因為這樣做，既能救自己，又能救聽你的人。

要給亞倫和他的兒子束上腰帶，裹上頭巾，他們就憑永遠的定例得祭司的職分。又要授聖職給亞倫和他的兒子。
