亞倫祭司的兒子以利亞撒是利未人的最高首領，負責監督在聖所工作的人。

耶希伊利的兩個兒子西坦和約珥負責管理耶和華殿裡的庫房。

「二十五歲以上的利未人都要到會幕司職，五十歲時退休。退休之後，他們可以協助本族弟兄看守會幕，不用再司職。你要這樣給他們分派工作。」
