我要使刀劍擊殺你們，對你們施行背約的報罰。你們聚集在你們的城內，我要打發瘟疫在你們中間，要將你們交在仇敵手中。

永恆主對耶戶說：『因你將我所看為對的事辦好，照我的心意待亞哈家，你的子孫到第四代都必坐以色列的王位。

摩西對約書亞說：『你為我們揀選人、出去和亞瑪力人交戰；明天我要站在山岡上，手裏拿着上帝的手杖。』於是約書亞照摩西對他所說的去行，和亞瑪力人交戰；摩西、亞倫跟戶珥都上了山岡。儘摩西將手舉起的時候，以色列人就得勝；儘他讓手歇息的時候，亞瑪力人就得勝。但摩西的兩手一發沉，他們就拿石頭、放在他下面、讓他坐在那上頭；亞倫跟戶珥扶着摩西的兩手，一個在這邊，一個在那邊，摩西的兩手就穩住，直到日落的時候。約書亞用刀砍倒了亞瑪力和他的人民。

永恆主的使者說：『你要咒詛米羅斯；大大咒詛其居民；因為他們不來幫助永恆主，不率領勇士幫助永恆主。』

你要擊殺你主上亞哈的家，我好在耶洗別身上伸我僕人眾神言人、流血的冤，也伸永恆主一切僕人流血的冤。

那日是主萬軍之永恆主的日子，是伸冤的日子——向他的敵人伸的冤；他的刀劍必吞喫得飽，喝血喝得滿足；因為主萬軍之永恆主有宰祭的事，就在北方之地，伯拉河邊。

『為了有領袖們在以色列中率領着，為了有人民自願從軍，你們要祝頌永恆主！

『祭司亞倫的孫子以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈使我向以色列人所發的烈怒轉消，因他在他們中間以妒愛熱情愛我，使我因妒愛熱情不把以色列人滅盡。

要做他和他以後的苗裔永遠擔當祭司職任的約，因為他對他的上帝有妒愛熱情，並且為以色列人除罪。」』

說：『我舉手指着永恆主的寶座來起誓：永恆主必世世代代跟亞瑪力人爭戰。』
