The Reubenites and Gadites, who had very large herds and flocks, saw that the lands of Jazer and Gilead were suitable for livestock.

The tribes of Reuben and Gad had very large herds and flocks. They looked at the lands of Jazer and Gilead. They saw that those lands were just right for livestock.

Now the people of Reuben and the people of Gad had a very great number of livestock. And they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, and behold, the place was a place for livestock.

The tribes of Reuben and Gad owned vast numbers of livestock. So when they saw that the lands of Jazer and Gilead were ideally suited for their flocks and herds,

因為希實本的田地和西比瑪的葡萄樹都衰殘了。列國的君主折斷其上美好的枝子；這枝子長到雅謝延到曠野，嫩枝向外探出，直探過鹽海。因此，我要為西比瑪的葡萄樹哀哭，與雅謝人哀哭一樣。希實本、以利亞利啊，我要以眼淚澆灌你；因為有交戰吶喊的聲音臨到你夏天的果子，並你收割的莊稼。

我們的妻子、孩子、羊羣，和所有的牲畜都要留在基列的各城。

按着家族，迦得的眾子：屬洗分的，有洗分族；屬哈基的，有哈基族；屬書尼的，有書尼族；屬阿斯尼的，有阿斯尼族；屬以利的，有以利族；屬亞律的，有亞律族；屬亞列利的，有亞列利族。這就是迦得子孫的各族，照他們中間被數的，共有四萬零五百名。

與亞伯蘭同行的羅得也有牛羣、羊羣、帳棚。

利亞的使女悉帕給雅各生了一個兒子。利亞說：「萬幸！」於是給他起名叫迦得。

以色列的長子是呂便。呂便的眾子：屬哈諾的，有哈諾族；屬法路的，有法路族；屬希斯倫的，有希斯倫族；屬迦米的，有迦米族；這就是呂便的各族；其中被數的，共有四萬三千七百三十名。

我必再領以色列回他的草場，他必在迦密和巴珊吃草，又在以法蓮山上和基列境內得以飽足。」

他們的境界是雅謝和基列的各城，並亞捫人的一半地，直到拉巴前的亞羅珥；

羅得舉目看見約旦河的全平原，直到瑣珥，都是滋潤的，那地在耶和華未滅所多瑪、蛾摩拉以先如同耶和華的園子，也像埃及地。於是羅得選擇約旦河的全平原，往東遷移；他們就彼此分離了。

他們又對法老說：「迦南地的饑荒甚大，僕人的羊羣沒有草吃，所以我們來到這地寄居。現在求你容僕人住在歌珊地。」

「在南邊，按着軍隊是呂便營的纛。有示丟珥的兒子以利蓿作呂便人的首領。他軍隊被數的，共有四萬六千五百名。挨着他安營的是西緬支派。蘇利沙代的兒子示路蔑作西緬人的首領。他軍隊被數的，共有五萬九千三百名。又有迦得支派。丟珥的兒子以利雅薩作迦得人的首領。他軍隊被數的，共有四萬五千六百五十名，

求耶和華在迦密山的樹林中，用你的杖牧放你獨居的民，就是你產業的羊羣。求你容他們在巴珊和基列得食物，像古時一樣。

因為，凡世界上的事，就像肉體的情慾、眼目的情慾，並今生的驕傲，都不是從父來的，乃是從世界來的。

利亞懷孕生子，就給他起名叫呂便，因而說：「耶和華看見我的苦情，如今我的丈夫必愛我。」

亞伯蘭的金、銀、牲畜極多。

又有許多閒雜人，並有羊羣牛羣，和他們一同上去。

他們過了約旦河，在迦得谷中、城的右邊亞羅珥安營，與雅謝相對，
