今爾曹一類作孽者興、繼爾先人犯罪、使主怒以色列人更甚、

“ And here you are, a brood of sinners, standing in the place of your fathers and making the Lord even more angry with Israel.

“ Now here you are, you bunch of sinners! You have taken the place of your fathers. And you are making the Lord even angrier with Israel.

And behold, you have risen in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinful men, to increase still more the fierce anger of the Lord against Israel!

But here you are, a brood of sinners, doing exactly the same thing! You are making the Lord even angrier with Israel.

And here you, a brood of sinners, stand in your ancestors’ place adding even more to the LORD’s burning anger against Israel.

Now behold, you have risen up in your fathers’ place, born of sinful men, to add still more to the burning anger of the Lord against Israel.

And look! You have risen in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinful men, to increase still more the fierce anger of the Lord against Israel.

And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers’ stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of Jehovah toward Israel.

Oh sinful nation, people weighed down with iniquity, brood of evildoers, depraved children! They have abandoned the Lord; they have despised the Holy One of Israel; they have turned their backs on Him.

So their descendants went in and possessed the land: You subdued the Canaanites who inhabited the land before them and handed their kings and the surrounding peoples over to them, to do as they pleased with them.They captured fortified cities and fertile land and took possession of well-supplied houses, cisterns cut out of rock, vineyards, olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance. They ate, were filled, became prosperous, and delighted in Your great goodness.But they were disobedient and rebelled against You. They flung Your law behind their backs and killed Your prophets who warned them in order to turn them back to You. They committed terrible blasphemies.

It is written before Me: I will not keep silent, but I will repay; I will repay them fullyfor your iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers together,” says the Lord.“ Because they burned incense on the mountains and reproached Me on the hills, I will reward them fully for their former deeds.”

Didn’t your ancestors do the same, so that our God brought all this disaster on us and on this city? And now you are rekindling His anger against Israel by profaning the Sabbath!”
