呂便、迦得二支派已經和瑪拿西另外半個支派得了產業，就是耶和華的僕人摩西在約旦河東所賜給他們的：

在那些日子，耶和華開始削弱以色列。哈薛在以色列各邊界攻擊他們，就是約旦河東基列全地，從靠近亞嫩谷邊的亞羅珥起，包括基列和巴珊，就是迦得人、呂便人、瑪拿西人的地。

你們的妻子、孩子和牲畜可以留在約旦河東、摩西所給你們的地。但你們中間所有大能的勇士都要帶着兵器，在你們的弟兄前面過去，你們要幫助他們。等到耶和華使你們的弟兄和你們一樣得享平靜，並且得着耶和華－你們神所賜他們為業之地的時候，你們才可以回到你們所得之地，承受為業，就是耶和華的僕人摩西在約旦河東、向日出的方向所給你們的地。」

但他們得罪了他們列祖的神，隨從當地百姓的神明而行淫，這百姓就是神在他們面前所除滅的。因此，以色列的神激發亞述王普勒，就是亞述王提革拉‧毗列色的心，他擄掠了呂便人、迦得人、瑪拿西半支派的人，把他們帶到哈臘、哈博、哈拉與歌散河邊，直到今日。

他們也把亞伯蘭的姪兒羅得和羅得的財物都擄掠去了。當時羅得住在所多瑪。

我們自己必帶着兵器，在耶和華面前渡過去，進入迦南地，好使我們在約旦河這邊得到我們的產業。」摩西把亞摩利王西宏的國和巴珊王噩的國，就是他們的國土和周圍的城鎮，都給了迦得子孫和呂便子孫，以及約瑟的兒子瑪拿西半個支派。

在以色列王比加的日子，亞述王提革拉‧毗列色來奪取以雲、亞伯‧伯‧瑪迦、亞挪、基低斯、夏瑣、基列、加利利和拿弗他利全地，把這些地方的居民都擄到亞述去了。

起初很快得來的產業，終久卻不是福。

這些是以色列人在約旦河東，向日出的方向，從亞嫩谷直到黑門山，以及東邊亞拉巴的整個地區所擊殺的王和所得的地：有住希實本的亞摩利王西宏，他統治的地從亞嫩谷邊的亞羅珥起，包括谷中之城和基列的一半，直到亞捫人邊界的雅博河，以及從東邊的亞拉巴，直到基尼烈海，又向東通過伯‧耶施末的路，直到亞拉巴的海，就是鹽海，再往南直到毗斯迦山斜坡的山腳。又有巴珊王噩，他是利乏音人所剩下的，住在亞斯她錄和以得來。他統治的地是黑門山、撒迦、巴珊全地，直到基述人和瑪迦人的邊界，以及基列的一半，直到希實本王西宏的邊界。這兩個王是耶和華的僕人摩西和以色列人所擊殺的。耶和華的僕人摩西把他們的地賜給呂便人、迦得人和瑪拿西半支派的人為業。

羅得舉目，看見約旦河整個平原，直到瑣珥，都是水源充足之地。在耶和華未毀滅所多瑪、蛾摩拉以前，那地好像耶和華的園子，又像埃及地。於是羅得選擇了約旦河整個平原。羅得往東遷移，他們就彼此分開了。亞伯蘭住在迦南地；羅得住在平原的城鎮，他漸漸遷移帳棚，直到所多瑪。

這兩個半支派已經在耶利哥對面，約旦河東邊，向日出的方向承受了產業。」
