那犯死罪的殺人犯，你們不可收贖價來代替他的命；他必須被處死。

“‘ Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. They are to be put to death.

“‘ Do not accept payment for a murderer’s life. A murderer deserves to die. They must certainly be put to death.

Moreover, you shall accept no ransom for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death, but he shall be put to death.

雖然約押沒有擁護押沙龍，卻擁護了亞多尼雅；這消息傳到約押那裏，他就逃到耶和華的帳幕，抓住祭壇的翹角。有人告訴所羅門王：「約押逃到耶和華的帳幕，看哪，他在祭壇的旁邊。」所羅門就派耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，說：「去，殺了他。」比拿雅來到耶和華的帳幕，對約押說：「王這樣吩咐：『你出來吧！』」他說：「不，我要死在這裏。」比拿雅就去回覆王，說：「約押這樣說，他這樣回答我。」王對他說：「你可以照着他的話去做，殺了他，把他葬了，好叫約押流無辜人血的罪不歸在我和我的父家。耶和華必使約押的血歸到他自己頭上，因為他擊殺兩個比他又公義又良善的人，就是尼珥的兒子以色列的元帥押尼珥和益帖的兒子猶大的元帥亞瑪撒，用刀殺了他們，我父親大衛卻不知道。這二人的血必歸到約押和他後裔頭上，直到永遠；惟有大衛和他的後裔，以及他的家與王位，必從耶和華那裏得平安，直到永遠。」於是耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅上去，擊殺約押，殺死他，把他葬在曠野約押自己的家裏。

人若蓄意用詭計殺了他的鄰舍，就是逃到我的壇那裏，也當把他捉去處死。

流你們血、害你們命的，我必向他追討；我要向一切走獸追討，向人和向人的弟兄追討人命。凡流人血的，他的血也必被人所流，因為上帝造人，是照自己的形像造的。

「若有人恨他的鄰舍，埋伏等着，起來擊殺他，把他殺死，然後逃到這些城中的一座，他本城的長老就要派人去，從那裏把他帶出來，交在報血仇者的手中，把他處死。你的眼不可顧惜他，要從以色列中除掉流無辜血的罪，使你得福。」

上帝啊，你是拯救我的上帝；求你救我脫離流人血的罪！我的舌頭就高唱你的公義。

大衛對拿單說：「我得罪耶和華了！」拿單說：「耶和華已經除去你的罪，你必不至於死。
