從葡萄樹所產的，她都不可吃；清酒或烈酒，她都不可喝；各樣不潔的東西，她也不可吃；我吩咐她的，她都要謹守。”

‘但你們迫使拿細耳人喝酒，吩咐先知說：不要說預言。

不要醉酒，醉酒能使人放蕩亂性，卻要讓聖靈充滿。

因為你的胃不好，而且身體常常軟弱，不要單單喝水，可以稍微用點酒。

各樣的惡事要遠離。

利慕伊勒啊！君王不可喝酒；君王千萬不可喝酒；掌權的不可貪飲烈酒。恐怕喝了酒，就忘記律例，把困苦人的一切案件都顛倒了。

但他們說：“我們不喝酒，因為我們的祖先利甲的兒子約拿達曾吩咐我們說：‘你們和你們的子孫永遠都不可喝酒。你們也不可建造房屋，不可撒種，不可栽種或擁有葡萄園；你們一生的日子只可住帳棚，使你們在寄居的地上活得長久。’我們的祖先利甲的兒子約拿達吩咐我們的一切話，我們都聽從了；我們和我們的妻子兒女，終生都不喝酒，

“你們應當自己小心，免得在貪食醉酒和生活的掛慮壓住你們的心的時候，那日子突然臨到你們，

因為施洗的約翰來了，不吃飯，不喝酒，你們說他是鬼附的。人子來了，又吃又喝，你們說：‘你看，這人貪食好酒，與稅吏和罪人為友。’
