我從以色列人中正式將利未人賜給亞倫和他的子孫、去在會棚中辦以色列人應辦的事務，為以色列人行除罪禮，免得以色列人挨近聖所時有疫病臨到他們中間。』

From among all the Israelites, I have given the Levites as gifts to Aaron and his sons to do the work at the tent of meeting on behalf of the Israelites and to make atonement for them so that no plague will strike the Israelites when they go near the sanctuary.”

I have given the Levites as gifts to Aaron and his sons. I have taken them from among all the Israelites. I have appointed them to do the work at the tent of meeting. They will do it in place of the Israelites. That is how they will keep the Israelites from being guilty when they go near the sacred tent. Then no plague will strike the Israelites when they go near the tent.”

And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the people of Israel, to do the service for the people of Israel at the tent of meeting and to make atonement for the people of Israel, that there may be no plague among the people of Israel when the people of Israel come near the sanctuary.”

And of all the Israelites, I have assigned the Levites to Aaron and his sons. They will serve in the Tabernacle on behalf of the Israelites and make sacrifices to purify the people so no plague will strike them when they approach the sanctuary.”

From the Israelites, I have given the Levites exclusively to Aaron and his sons to perform the work for the Israelites at the tent of meeting and to make atonement on their behalf, so that no plague will come against the Israelites when they approach the sanctuary.”

And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the sons of Israel, to perform the service of the sons of Israel at the tent of meeting and to make atonement on behalf of the sons of Israel, so that there will be no affliction among the sons of Israel due to their approaching the sanctuary.”

And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the work for the children of Israel in the tabernacle of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel when the children of Israel come near the sanctuary.”

但是利未人要在法櫃帳幕的四圍紮營，免得上帝的震怒臨到以色列人的會眾：利未人是要守盡法櫃帳幕之職守的。』

摩西對亞倫說：『拿那香爐，把祭壇上取的火盛在那裏頭，又放上香，趕快走到會眾那裏，為他們行除罪禮，因為有神的震怒從永恆主面前發出，疫病已經發作了。』

『但是他們的職任是做亞倫子孫的助手來辦理永恆主之殿的事務；無論是在院子裏、是在貯藏室裏、或是在潔淨一切聖物的事情上、來辦上帝之殿的事務；管理陳設餅、素祭的細麵、無酵薄餅、或是在煎盤上作的、或是用油調勻的，又管理各樣量器和尺度。他們每天早晨要站着、稱謝讚美永恆主；晚上也要這樣；又在安息日、初一日、制定的節期、每逢按數照例有燔祭不斷地獻與永恆主的時候、他們總是站着、稱讚永恆主。他們要守盡會棚的職守、聖地方的職守、和他們族弟兄亞倫子孫的職守，來辦永恆主之殿的事務。

『你要叫利未支派走近前來，讓他們站在祭司亞倫面前、去伺候他。他們要守盡亞倫的職守，也要在會棚前守盡全會眾的職守，來辦理帳幕的事務。他們要看守會棚裏一切的器具，也要守盡以色列人的職守，來辦理帳幕的事務。你要將利未人給亞倫和他的兒子們；他們是從以色列人中選出來完全給他的。

但是耶哥尼雅的兒子們看見永恆主的櫃時候不和伯示麥人一同歡樂，永恆主就擊殺了他們七十個人；因為永恆主大大擊殺了眾民，眾民就哀悼。

他既強盛，就心驕氣傲，以致行事腐敗，對永恆主他的上帝不忠實，進永恆主的殿堂、要在香壇上燒香。跟他進去的有祭司亞撒利雅，還有同亞撒利雅在一起的、永恆主的祭司八十個、有勇氣的人。他們阻擋烏西雅王，對他說：『烏西雅啊，向永恆主燒香並不是你應作的事，乃是亞倫子孫作祭司者的事啊；他們才是受聖職來燒香的。你出聖所吧！因為你行了僭妄事了；並且永恆主上帝也不使你得尊榮。』烏西雅就很生氣；他原有香爐在手裏要燒香；他一向祭司生氣的時候，就在永恆主殿中香壇旁邊祭司們面前、他額上就患起痲瘋屬之病來了。祭司長亞撒利雅和眾祭司正在觀看，只見他額上患起痲瘋屬之病來了！他們慌慌忙忙地推他離開那裏，他自己呢、也趕快出來，因為永恆主以災病擊打了他。

他們必須在我的聖地當僕役，照管殿門，在殿中供職；必須為人民宰燔祭牲和別的祭牲，站在人民面前伺候他們。因為這些利未人曾在他們的偶像面前伺候這人民，就成了絆腳物使以色列家陷於罪孽中；故此我舉手起誓論到他們，主永恆主發神諭說，他們須要擔受他們自己的罪罰。他們不可親近我，來給我供祭司的職分，也不可挨近我的任何聖物、至聖之物；他們乃是須要擔受他們自己的羞辱、和他們所行可厭惡之事的報應。然而我卻要派他們守着殿宇的職守，辦理其一切事務，作其一切當作的工。

你也要帶你的族弟兄、利未支派的人、你祖宗族派的人、和你一同走近前來，叫他們跟你聯合而伺候你；只是你和你兒子們要和你一同在法櫃的帳棚前供職。他們要守盡你的職守、和全帳棚的職守，只是聖所的器具和祭壇、你們卻不可走近，免得他們死亡、連你們也和他們都死亡。他們要和你聯合，要守盡會棚的職守，辦理帳棚的一切事務；一切非利未族的平常人都不可走近你們。你們要守盡聖所的職守、和祭壇的職守，免得上帝的震怒再臨到以色列人。我看我、我曾經把你們的族弟兄利未人從以色列人中選取出來、做禮物給了你們、來歸永恆主，來辦理會棚的事務。
