But some of them could not celebrate the Passover on that day because they were ceremonially unclean on account of a dead body. So they came to Moses and Aaron that same day

But some of them couldn’t celebrate the Passover Feast on that day. That’s because they weren’t“ clean.” They had gone near a dead body. So they came to Moses and Aaron that same day.

and stood before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the leaders and the whole assembly at the entrance to the tent of meeting and said, (niv)

Moses answered him,“ Because the people come to me to seek God’s will. (niv)

“ Anyone out in the open who touches someone who has been killed with a sword or someone who has died a natural death, or anyone who touches a human bone or a grave, will be unclean for seven days. (niv)

“ Whoever touches a human corpse will be unclean for seven days. (niv)

“ Command the Israelites to send away from the camp anyone who has a defiling skin disease or a discharge of any kind, or who is ceremonially unclean because of a dead body. (niv)

Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people’s representative before God and bring their disputes to him. (niv)

Then a man who is ceremonially clean is to take some hyssop, dip it in the water and sprinkle the tent and all the furnishings and the people who were there. He must also sprinkle anyone who has touched a human bone or a grave or anyone who has been killed or anyone who has died a natural death. (niv)

Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace, because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover. (niv)

They served as judges for the people at all times. The difficult cases they brought to Moses, but the simple ones they decided themselves. (niv)

The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name with a curse; so they brought him to Moses.( His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri the Danite.) (niv)

“‘ Throughout the period of their dedication to the Lord, the Nazirite must not go near a dead body.Even if their own father or mother or brother or sister dies, they must not make themselves ceremonially unclean on account of them, because the symbol of their dedication to God is on their head. (niv)

He must not enter a place where there is a dead body. He must not make himself unclean, even for his father or mother, (niv)

So Moses brought their case before the Lord, (niv)

Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly, (niv)
