But some of them could not celebrate the Passover on that day because they were ceremonially unclean on account of a dead body. So they came to Moses and Aaron that same day

But some of them couldn’t celebrate the Passover Feast on that day. That’s because they weren’t“ clean.” They had gone near a dead body. So they came to Moses and Aaron that same day.

And there were certain men who were unclean through touching a dead body, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day, and they came before Moses and Aaron on that day.

站在會棚出入處、在摩西和祭司以利亞撒跟眾首領和全會眾面前，說：

摩西對他的岳父說：『因為人民來找我求問上帝呀。

無論何人在田野上觸着被刀刺死的、或自己死的、或是人類的骨頭、或是墳墓、就不潔淨七天。

『那觸着死人、觸着任何人類屍體的、就不潔淨七天。

『你要吩咐以色列人把一切患痲瘋屬之病的、一切患漏症的、一切因死人而不潔淨的、都從營裏送出去；

如今你要聽我的話；我給你出個主意；願上帝和你同在；你要代表人民到上帝面前，將案件呈報上帝；

要有一個潔淨的人拿脣形薄荷蘸在這水中，把水灑在帳棚上、和一切器皿、跟帳棚裏的眾人身上，也灑在觸着骨頭，或觸着被刺死的、或自己死的、或觸着墳墓的人身上。

當下他們將耶穌、從該亞法那裏帶到皇省長府內。那時候是清早；他們自己卻沒有進府內，免得染了俗污，好喫逾越節的筵席。

他們隨時審判人民；有困難的案件，就呈到摩西那裏；所有小案件、他們自己去判斷。

這以色列婦人的兒子咒詛了聖名，並且咒罵；就有人把他送到摩西那裏。（他母親名叫示羅密，是但支派底伯利的女兒。）

『儘他離俗歸永恆主的日子、他總不可走近死人。「他的父親或母親、弟兄或姐妹、死了的時候、他不可因他們而使自己不潔淨，因為離俗歸他的上帝的憑據在他頭上；

他不可走近死人；為了父親或母親也不可讓自己蒙不潔。

於是摩西將她們的案件呈到永恆主面前。

那些遇見撿柴人的、就把他帶到摩西、亞倫和全會眾那裏。
