那些人对他说：“我们因尸体而不洁净，为何禁止我们，不能和以色列人在所定的日期献供物给耶和华呢？”

说：“我们不过因碰到死尸而不洁净，为什么不准我们跟其他以色列人一起在指定的时间向耶和华献供物？”

这些人对摩西说：“我们虽然因为接触死人而不洁净，为什么我们被拒绝，不能在以色列人中，在指定的时间献耶和华的供物呢？”

說：「我們雖因死屍而不潔淨，為何被阻止、不得同以色列人在所定的日期獻耶和華的供物呢？」

對他們說：『我們是因人的屍體而不潔淨的；為甚麼我們被看為例外、不得在以色列人中、在制定時間內、獻永恆主應得的供物呢？』

曰、吾儕緣尸蒙污、屆期奚禁我與以色列族、同獻禮物於耶和華、

曰、吾儕雖捫尸自玷、屆期奚禁我與以色列族同獻禮物、以事耶和華。

我近屍蒙不潔、不得與以色列人同於所定之日期、於主獻當獻之祭、若何而可、

and said to Moses,“ We have become unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be kept from presenting the Lord’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?”

They said to Moses,“ We went near a dead body. So we aren’t‘ clean.’ But why should we be kept from bringing the Lord’ s offering at the appointed time? Why shouldn’t we bring it along with the other Israelites?”

And those men said to him,“ We are unclean through touching a dead body. Why are we kept from bringing the Lord’s offering at its appointed time among the people of Israel?”

and said,“ We have become ceremonially unclean by touching a dead body. But why should we be prevented from presenting the Lord’s offering at the proper time with the rest of the Israelites?”

and said to him,“ We are unclean because of a human corpse. Why should we be excluded from presenting the LORD’s offering at its appointed time with the other Israelites?”

Those men said to him,“ Though we are unclean because of a dead person, why are we kept from presenting the offering of the Lord at its appointed time among the sons of Israel?”

And those men said to him,“ We became defiled by a human corpse. Why are we kept from presenting the offering of the Lord at its appointed time among the children of Israel?”

and those men said unto him, We are unclean by reason of the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer the oblation of Jehovah in its appointed season among the children of Israel?

and said to him,“ We are unclean because of a human corpse. Why should we be excluded from presenting the Lord’s offering at its appointed time with the other Israelites?”

And those men said unto him, We[ are] defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel?

And those men said to him,“ We are ceremonially defiled by the dead body of a man; why are we kept back from offering the LORD’s offering at its appointed time among the Israelites?”

Those men said to him,“ We are unclean because of the dead body of a man. Why are we kept back, that we may not offer the offering of Yahweh in its appointed season among the children of Israel?”

then tell them,‘ It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.’” Then the people bowed down and worshiped. (niv)

Sacrifice as the Passover to the Lord your God an animal from your flock or herd at the place the Lord will choose as a dwelling for his Name. (niv)

Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch— as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. (niv)

Since many in the crowd had not consecrated themselves, the Levites had to kill the Passover lambs for all those who were not ceremonially clean and could not consecrate their lambs to the Lord.Although most of the many people who came from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun had not purified themselves, yet they ate the Passover, contrary to what was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying,“ May the Lord, who is good, pardon everyonewho sets their heart on seeking God— the Lord, the God of their ancestors— even if they are not clean according to the rules of the sanctuary.” (niv)
