行見爾之信德、發為妙果、令人景仰、而翕然歸依基督。

I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.

我所祷告的就是：要你们的爱心，在知识和各样见识上，不断增长，使你们能分辨是非，在基督的日子作真诚无可指责的人，更靠着耶稣基督结满仁义的果子，归荣耀称赞给上帝。

你们有了这几样，再继续增长，就必使你们在认识我们的主耶稣基督上，不至于懒散和不结果子了。

因此，我们自从听见的日子就不住地为你们祷告和祈求，愿你们满有一切属灵的智慧和悟性，真正知道上帝的旨意，

就是为你们这些藉着信、蒙上帝大能保守的人，能获得他所预备、到末世要显现的救恩。虽然你们必须在百般试炼中暂时忧愁，你们要为此喜乐，使你们的信心既被考验，就比那被火试炼仍然能坏的金子更显宝贵，可以在耶稣基督显现的时候得着称赞、荣耀、尊贵。虽然你们没有见过他，却是爱他；如今虽看不见，你们却因信他而有说不出来、满有荣光的喜乐，

你们的光也要这样照在人前，叫他们看见你们的好行为，把荣耀归给你们在天上的父。”

我的弟兄们，若有人说自己有信心，却没有行为，有什么益处呢？这信心能救他吗？

你们在外邦人中要品行端正，好让那些人，虽然毁谤你们是作恶的，会因看见你们的好行为而在鉴察的日子归荣耀给上帝。

我们的人也该学习行善，帮助有迫切需要的人，这样才不会不结果子。

他心里的隐情被显露出来，就必将脸伏地，敬拜上帝，宣告说：“上帝真的是在你们中间了。”

信心也是这样，若没有行为是死的。

因为办这供给的事，不但补圣徒的缺乏，而且使许多人对上帝充满更多的感谢。他们从这供给的事上得了凭据，知道你们宣认基督，顺服他的福音，慷慨捐助给他们和众人，把荣耀归给上帝。他们也因上帝极大的恩赐显在你们身上而切切想念你们，为你们祈祷。

末了，弟兄们，凡是真实的、凡是可敬的、凡是公义的、凡是清洁的、凡是可爱的、凡是有美名的，若有什么德行，若有什么称赞，你们都要留意。

因为上帝并非不公义，竟忘记你们的工作和你们为他的名所显的爱心，就是你们过去和现在伺候圣徒的爱心。

同样，你们作妻子的，要顺服自己的丈夫，这样，即使有不信从道理的丈夫，也会因妻子的品行，并非言语，而感化过来，

不过，要以温柔、敬畏的心回答。要存无亏的良心，使你们在何事上被毁谤，就在何事上使那些凌辱你们在基督里有好品行的人自觉羞愧。
