蓋天主為基督賜爾不但信基督、亦為之受苦、

蓋爾所受之特寵、不惟在信仰基督、亦在為彼受難忍苦耳。

For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him,

Here is what he has given you to do for Christ. You must not only believe in him. You must also suffer for him.

having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. (niv)

On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. (niv)

Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. (niv)
