Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the deadand into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.

Its length, width, and height are equal.Then he measured its wall, 144 cubits according to human measurement, which the angel used.The building material of its wall was jasper, and the city was pure gold clear as glass.The foundations of the city wall were adorned with every kind of jewel: the first foundation is jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.The twelve gates are twelve pearls; each individual gate was made of a single pearl. The main street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass.I did not see a temple in it, because the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God illuminates it, and its lamp is the Lamb.The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.Its gates will never close by day because it will never be night there.They will bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.Nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. So it is to be. Amen.

What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoicebecause I know this will lead to my salvation through your prayers and help from the Spirit of Jesus Christ.My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all courage, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death.For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
