I want to be joined to him. Being right with God does not come from my obeying the law. It comes because I believe in Christ. It comes from God because of faith.

and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.

and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would inherit the world was not through the law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.If those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made empty and the promise nullified,because the law produces wrath. And where there is no law, there is no transgression.

But to the one who does not work, but believes on him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited for righteousness.Just as David also speaks of the blessing of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
