The wise fear the Lord and shun evil, but a fool is hotheaded and yet feels secure.

Happy[ is] the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that[ is] wisdom; and to depart from evil[ is] understanding.

And he said, Whether they be come out for peace, take them alive; or whether they be come out for war, take them alive.

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD[ men] depart from evil.

The beginning of the words of his mouth[ is] foolishness: and the end of his talk[ is] mischievous madness.

But the former governors that[ had been] before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.
