All day long he craves for more, but the righteous give without sparing.

All day long they hunger for more. But godly people give without holding back.

Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give!

He is filled with craving all day long, but the righteous give and don’t hold back.

For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor a cloak for covetousness— God is witness.Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, when we might have made demands as apostles of Christ.But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children.So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.For you remember, brethren, our labor and toil; for laboring night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.“ But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor.

But as you abound in everything— in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us— see that you abound in this grace also.I speak not by commandment, but I am testing the sincerity of your love by the diligence of others.For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.

Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

As it is written:“ He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God,while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men,and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you.

Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.

I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel.Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me.I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
