If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.

If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer.

If you sin, how does that affect him? If your sins are many, what does that do to him?If you are righteous, what do you give to him, or what does he receive from your hand? (niv)

The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them. (niv)

Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.They will say,“ Where is this‘ coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” (niv)

The appetite of laborers works for them; their hunger drives them on. (niv)

He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. (niv)
