He sent darkness and made the land dark— for had they not rebelled against his words?

The Lord sent darkness over the land. He did it because the Egyptians had refused to obey his words.

The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. (niv)

These people are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. (niv)
